About: My name is Daniel Holstein I’m 16 years old. I come from two families of firefighters 3 generations of Holsteins have run and are running at the Morton Rutledge fire company and 3 generations of Abels have run and are running a Springfield fire company. There are also countless family members around the United States who also run in the fire service. So all my life I grew up around the fire house in fire trucks with firefighters. I never really had an interest in becoming a fire fighter until a close friend of the fire company suddenly passed away. I started going around the fire house more and loved being there and helping out where I could. So I decided to fill out an application and send it in and at the next company meeting February 14th I was voted in as a cadet. Since I’ve joined it’s been nothing but a great experience I encourage you if you want to become a firefighter you should definitely try it out.
